I am in charge of sales at Dentsu. I value imagining the other person's position and strive to build trustworthy relationships with sincerity. In my daily work, I make a conscious effort to engage with diverse values.
Work Philosophy
In your sales work, how do you imagine the other person's position and act accordingly?
Yuto Kashiwagi
As a salesperson, I make a conscious effort to put myself in the other person's shoes and imagine their interests and behavioral principles as much as possible. Especially when their opinions or values differ from mine, I try not to view those differences negatively, but rather to accept them with curiosity. I believe that differences are what create new perspectives and discoveries, and I feel that I value this attitude when facing others in my daily work.
Origin
Please tell us about an event that led you to start working in sales.
Yuto Kashiwagi
I've always been very interested in how people's hearts and minds move. While studying abroad, I took a Design Thinking class where we worked on a project to turn negative behaviors on campus into positive ones. Through this group work, I was able to experience firsthand how people's actions and feelings can change, and I think that was a major reason I chose a career in sales. Even now, I feel that what I learned then remains my foundation.
Turning Point
How did meeting people with values and experiences different from your own change you?
Yuto Kashiwagi
In the past, I felt it was easier to cooperate and more efficient to work with people who had similar ideas and experiences to mine. However, while studying abroad, I worked on projects with members from different countries, cultures, and areas of expertise. Although it was challenging, I was surprised to see new ideas emerge from those differences. Through this experience, I began to actively value encounters with people who think and experience things differently from me. Now, I truly feel that diversity creates new value.
Life
How do you spend your days off, and what do you value?
Yuto Kashiwagi
On my days off, I host home parties with friends or try activities I haven't experienced before. By spending time this way, I can encounter different sensibilities and new experiences, which stimulates my curiosity even in everyday life. I value new discoveries in my work, but I also try to enjoy the unknown and differences in my private life as well. I believe that spending my time this way also contributes to my personal growth.
Future
What kind of people do you want to connect with and what kind of relationships do you want to build in the future?
Yuto Kashiwagi
From now on, both in my work and personal life, I want to connect with people who can give each other new perspectives. Meeting people with ideas and experiences I don't have broadens my own horizons. If I can build relationships where we inspire each other and grow together, I believe my daily work and life will become even richer.
