Work Ethic
Please tell us about the background and reasons for founding the company and brand.
Atsushi Asanuma
Since my student days, I had thought it would be great to work together with Tamada, the designer. In 2021, various timings coincided, and we decided to launch the company and brand. It's not just because we're classmates; I work with him because I trust his work and talent. Knowing each other's true personalities makes it feel like we can work smoothly together. Because our roles and schedules are different, I feel that we naturally maintain a good balance.
Origin
Is there an atmosphere or sense of distance you value in your daily work as a team?
Atsushi Asanuma
I value an environment where we can create things without stress. Even if our roles and schedules are different, it's comfortable to move at our own pace. Conversations arise naturally when needed, and I think we interact in a way that leaves room for interpretation without over-explaining. Because we're classmates, we don't have to force closeness, and we can gather when necessary, which helps maintain a comfortable atmosphere.
Turning Point
Have there been times when you felt uncertain or uncomfortable while running the brand or company?
Atsushi Asanuma
I always feel the difficulty of continuing to work in apparel for a long time. At first, I was unsure about how to divide roles and proceed, but as we actually started, we found balance by making use of each person's strengths. More than I expected, by not over-explaining, each of us can get involved at our own timing. Through daily adjustments, I realized that not forcing ourselves to match too much has become the natural way for us.
Life
Are there any feelings or room for interpretation you wanted to protect while running the company or brand?
Atsushi Asanuma
I wanted to preserve the space that comes from not over-explaining, and the atmosphere of respecting each person's pace. Because we understand each other's personalities and ways of working, there are many things that get across without detailed explanations. Rather than forcing everyone to do things the same way, I think maintaining each person's style and rhythm allows for a natural relationship. Even when I'm unsure about a decision, I try to respect the other person's way first.
Future
Going forward, what kind of people would you like to share this brand or company with?
Atsushi Asanuma
I want to continue working with trustworthy colleagues and people interested in making things, maintaining a natural sense of distance. Without expanding too much, I hope to continue valuing relationships that feel like an extension of everyday life.
