Mr. Baba, who has 30 years of experience in sales, has always valued daily dialogue and on-site decision-making. The attitude he has built up over the years naturally shows in his current work ethic and sense of distance with others.

I serve as Sales Director at PJAY. While valuing the accumulation of small interactions and decisions in the field, I face my work through dialogue with others.
Work Ethic
What kind of decisions and approaches do you keep in mind in your daily sales work?
Nobuharu Baba
I place great importance on dialogue in the field. I listen carefully to the other person and often think about the necessary response on the spot. Rather than sticking to a particular formula, I tend to assess the situation each time and make decisions accordingly, so I rarely use the same approach every time. I feel that the experience I’ve accumulated naturally influences my decisions.
Origin
Can you tell us what prompted you to start working in sales and about your early experiences?
Nobuharu Baba
I started in sales because I felt that working directly with people in the field suited me. At first, there were many things that didn’t go well, but as I talked with others, I gradually found my own way of doing things. My experiences in the field have become the foundation of who I am today.
Turning Point
Were there any moments when your way of thinking or decision-making changed?
Nobuharu Baba
While continuing in sales, there were times when things didn’t go well or I felt a sense of discomfort. Each time, I would review whether my current approach was the right one. Rather than a major turning point, it felt more like a series of small realizations and adjustments. That accumulation has led to my current decision-making axis.
Daily Life
Is there anything you value in your off time or daily life?
Nobuharu Baba
I’m conscious of balancing work and life. During breaks in my work or in my off time, I try to switch gears as much as possible. I don’t do anything special, but I make it a point not to disrupt my daily rhythm.
Future
What do you want to value in your future work and relationships with people?
Nobuharu Baba
I want to continue valuing dialogue in the field. I want to keep listening carefully to others and responding flexibly each time. Rather than seeking major changes, I want to cherish the accumulation of daily efforts.
