I am in charge of marketing and PR at 08Equitas Inc. Utilizing my experience at advertising agencies and business companies, I focus on understanding the other party's objectives and background, and emphasize proposals from the user's perspective as I work.
From new client acquisition at an advertising agency to current independence, I have revised my decision criteria as my area of responsibility has expanded. I continue to make proposals and improvements in the field, focusing on understanding the other party's objectives and maintaining a user perspective.

What was the atmosphere and situation like when acquiring new clients at an advertising agency?
Hisano Hamauchi
When I was at an advertising agency, I focused on acquiring new clients through cold calls. I was always thinking about how to get companies that already had many dealings with other agencies to accept our proposals. I would directly call the manufacturers of cosmetic brands I liked and honestly convey my passion for their brand over the phone. As a result, I was able to get appointments, and my passion came through in the proposals, which led to winning the business. In the field, speed, information, and persistence were required. I made sure to understand the client's business model and keep the user perspective in mind so that it wouldn't just end up as simple ad space sales.

What challenges or discomfort did you feel as your area of responsibility expanded?
Hisano Hamauchi
At the time, I was in charge of a wide range of fields such as beauty, travel, and music labels, so it was extremely difficult to create a proposal tailored to each company after getting an appointment. The required content differed by industry, and I had to gather and organize information from scratch each time. The workload was heavy, and I couldn't find an efficient way to proceed, so I felt the burden. There were many situations where I needed to respond individually but couldn't keep up with the necessary knowledge and preparation, which made things difficult and uncomfortable.

How did you actually manage your work despite the burdens and challenges?
Hisano Hamauchi
When I felt overwhelmed by my workload, I proactively consulted with my supervisor as I worked. Instead of handling everything alone, I broadened my perspective by listening to the opinions of those around me when I was unsure or had trouble making decisions. I also made a conscious effort to learn about the industry and proposal examples through books and web articles. I made sure to study and prepare daily so I could gather and organize information and create proposals tailored to each client. Through these efforts, I gradually felt I was able to manage my work better.

What decision criteria do you value most now, based on your experiences so far?
Hisano Hamauchi
What I still value most is first properly understanding the other party's objectives and background. On top of that, I always consider whether it truly provides value to the users or recipients beyond them. Rather than just doing the tasks as assigned, I try to propose better ways if I find them, take action first, and then improve based on the feedback I get. I feel this is my own way of working. While maintaining a sense of speed, I also make sure to respond carefully to others and see things through to the end with responsibility.
Future

What kind of people or themes do you want to work with in the future?
Hisano Hamauchi
In the future, I want to work with people and brands who have charms or passions that haven't been fully communicated yet, and help shape and deliver that value together. I'm attracted to relationships where we can exchange honest opinions toward the same goal, rather than one-sided ordering or receiving. I also want to value work-life balance, protect time with my family, and be mindful of working in a way that allows me to continue for a long time with people I trust.
