Work Perspective
Meishi+
Please tell us what prompted you to start this soccer project and the background behind it.
a
I participated in a project related to soccer. At first, I think I was drawn to the energy present in the space and the intensity of the movement. I naturally felt pulled in by the energy that soccer as a sport has and the interactions that take place on the field. Rather than thinking about what role I would play, just being in that environment itself was a big motivation for me.

Through the project, what kind of experiences or atmosphere were you trying to create?
a
I wanted to directly translate the intensity that soccer has into the experience. I wanted to value the speed of movement, the feeling of collisions, and the moments when participants bump into each other. Rather than a quiet space, I was conscious of the sense of unity that comes from movement and an atmosphere where people naturally raise their voices. I didn't want to over-explain, but rather let participants be present at their own pace.
Turning Point

Were there any moments during the project when your way of thinking or your feelings changed?
a
At first, I was only conscious of movement and intensity, but as the project progressed, I started to pay attention to emotional movement as well. I became aware of how the participants and I were feeling, even the invisible parts. Not just the intensity, but also what we were feeling within it became important, and I gradually started to think about the atmosphere and sense of distance in the space. There were times of uncertainty, and I sometimes had to pause and reflect.

What was the most important thing you wanted to preserve until the end of the project?
a
Until the very end, I wanted to preserve the intensity of the space and the emotional movement. I was conscious of leaving room for people to feel things for themselves, without over-explaining. By not organizing everything too neatly and leaving some ambiguity or unrefined sensations, I tried to protect the unique atmosphere of the space. I valued a sense of distance that allowed participants to receive things in their own way.
Future

In the future, with whom would you like to share this project or experience?
a
I want to share this experience with people who can feel the intensity and enjoyment of soccer together. I want to continue being involved with people who can enjoy it, maintaining a natural sense of distance. Going forward, I don't want to force things into a set form, but rather continue while valuing the atmosphere of each moment.
